Portugal & Wine

As I recently said in my First Anniversary post, I want to learn more about wines and foods of Portugal. Especially as I hope to travel there in 2009. And I want to share what I learn with my readers.

To that effect, I will also post links to articles about the wines and foods of Portugal that I come across, to share what others have to say about it as well.

For example, I just came across an item in the Daily News Journal of Tennessee called "Portugal Produces Fine Wines." The article reviews four Portuguese wines that they blind tasted. The wines are from three different regions of Portugal.

So stay tuned for much more about Portugal.

I am one day into a two-day review of a Portugese wine here- http://2daysperbottle.blogspot.com/2008/07/monte-das-nforas-2006.html

Richard,

When you have a better idea about your trip, please let us now, as we might be able to sync up our trips, and hopefully, cross paths while you are there! Additionally, we obviously are elated that you want to research Portuguese wine in more depth, but i would argue with the article in dni.com suggesting that the wines mentioned are better expressed on the nose than on the palate. For example, the Periquita 2004 is an an exceptionally great wine on the palate as it is on the nose.

Thanks Dhonig:
It is great to see others reviewing Portuguese wines too.

Gabriella:
It would be great to meet you and Ryan again. Right now, we are considering taking the trip in October 2009, though we have not worked out any details yet. We shall keep you updated though on our plans.

And thanks for your comments on the article. I would agree with you that the Periquita is great on the palate as well.

Hi there.

I'm talking from Portugal.

Trying for sometime to ship some Casa Ferreirinha (SOGRAPE) wines to 3 friends in Atlanta (GA).

I've search for online suppliers to deliver but it's not been easy.

Almost nobody sells them and nobody delivers them in Atlanta.

Help would be great!

Many thanks,

Michel
