Green Monster Cocktail

This upcoming baseball season, Red Sox Nation will be seeing “green” on and off the field. The Beacon Hill Hotel & Bistro has decided to celebrate spring in Boston with their new Monstre Verte (“Green Monster” in French) cocktail.

The Bistro takes their cocktail concoctions very seriously and it’s only there that customers can enjoy a drink that combines the tart tastes of lime, ginger and cilantro to pair with the crisp flavors of Absolute Citron vodka and Hendrick’s Gin. So break out your baseball cap and pair it with a sensible outfit (you are in Beacon Hill after all) and head over to the BHHB to try the refreshing Monstre Verte and Root! Root! Root! for the home team!

Recipe:

1 handful fresh cilantro
1 tablespoon fresh grated ginger
Fresh squeezed lime juice (one limes worth)
½ oz. simple syrup
2 oz. Absolut Citron Vodka
½ oz. Hendrick’s Gin

Directions:

Fill shaker with crushed ice, cilantro, lime juice and simple syrup
Muddle well
Add vodka and gin
Shake well and strain into a chilled martini glass
Serve with a lime wheel garnish

Cost/Availability: The Monstre Verte is $11.00. The bar is open Monday - Saturday 11:30am - 11:30pm and Sunday from 12pm-10:00pm.
