Swedish Apple Pie: An Easy & Delicious Recipe

Would you like a fresh, hot apple pie but think it is too much work? Making the pie crust can be a lot of work and store bought pie crusts don't always taste as good. I have an alternative to offer, a recipe for a slightly different apple pie that is just as delicious but which is much easier to make.

Swedish Apple Pie

Ingredients
6-8 apples
Cinnamon
1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 stick butter, softened
1 egg

Directions:
First, butter a pie plate. Then peel and slice the apples, placing them into the pie plate. Sprinkle cinnamon atop the sliced apples.

Then mix the other four ingredients together. Once well mixed, pour this over the apples as evenly as possible.

Bake in an oven at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes. The mixture will form a crust over the apples, as well as seeping deeper into the pie. Serve with ice cream or whipped cream.

See? No need for rolling out the dough, stretching it to fit the pie plate, worrying about it tearing. You can whip up one of these pies fairly quickly and I bet your guests will very much enjoy it.

  1. Saving this recipe for next fall when I can get high quality apples from the Apple House again.
