Thursday Sips & Nibbles

I am back again with a new edition of Thursday Sips & Nibbles, my regular column where I highlight some interesting, upcoming food & drink events.
**********************************************************
1) Now in its 22nd year, Chefs in Shorts brings together a group of the area’s top culinary talents who fire up the grills and create their best dishes during this expansive outdoor, summer-in-the-city barbeque hosted at the Seaport Hotel & World Trade Center. Join some of Boston’s best chefs on June 21 for an evening of grill-offs, desserts, beer, wine and fun to again benefit Future Chefs, a local nonprofit focused on first careers in the culinary arts. Attendees also will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite creation.

Future Chefs’ mission is to prepare urban youth in Greater Boston for quality early employment and post-secondary education opportunities in the culinary field and to support them in developing a broad base of transferable skills as they transition into the working world.

WHEN: Friday, June 21, 2019 from 7:00pm-10:00pm
COST: $90 per person (includes admission with complimentary beer, wine and culinary tastings)
TICKETS: Advance tickets are required: https://chefsinshorts2019.eventbrite.com. Tickets will not be available at the door.
MORE INFO: This event is strictly ages 21+ and requires proper identification.

2) On Monday, June 10, Connecticut-based Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana will celebrate its grand opening by welcoming guests to its second Massachusetts location (their 11th location company-wide). Children and grandchildren of Frank Pepe will be joined by the Burlington community and town officials to celebrate the arrival of Pepe’s in the Burlington Mall.

The celebration will kick-off with an official ribbon cutting ceremony at 10:30 a.m. Doors will open to the public at 11:00 a.m., which is when guests will have the chance to order delicious Pepe’s pizzas such as the White Clam Pizza, a signature combination of fresh clams, grated cheese, olive oil, fresh garlic and oregano, and the Original Tomato Pie, both originally crafted by Frank Pepe himself.

3) Chef/Owner Chris Coombs, Executive Chef Adrienne Wright and the Boston Chops teams invite guests to join them for Prime Rib Sundays. Boston Chops' Downtown Crossing and South End locations launched Prime Rib Sundays last Sunday, June 2nd. Offering guests a delicious, affordable option for enjoying their premium cuts of meat, a prime rib cut will be available for just $19 every Sunday thereafter.
