Thursday Sips & Nibbles

I'm back again with a new edition of Sips & Nibbles, my regular column where I highlight some interesting, upcoming food and drink events. I hope everyone dines out safely, tips well and are nice to their servers.

1) Boardwalk Pizza, known for its thin-crust pizza, has added a second location in South Boston, located at 309, D Street. Boardwalk Pizza's first location is at Marina Bay, Quincy quickly, which serves pizza and sandwiches on house-made bread that is made daily.

We are very excited to bring our food to the Southie neighborhood,” said Donato Frattaroli, Jr., owner of Boardwalk Southie. “We look forward to being part of the vibrant South Boston community.”

The pizzeria will be open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m, and also offers take-out and delivery. The menu features a variety of slices, whole pies, fresh salads, super-sized subs, and warm bowls and includes signature favorites like the Buffalo Chicken Wrap, Vodka Chicken Parm Sub, Steak Fajita Bowl, and Sausage & Spicy Broccoli Pizza.

2) Seafood lovers will be excited to learn that Legal Sea Foods is celebrating all things shrimp during their Shrimp Festival, from January 11 - February 8. Featuring new shrimp starters like Coconut Shrimp, Buffalo Fried Shrimp, and Pesto Shrimp Flatbread, and entrées including Shrimp Pad Thai, Baked Shrimp Casserole and Surf & Turf Tacos, complete with recommended wine pairing. Available for lunch and dinner at select locations (excluding airports) for dine-in only.

3) Tambo 22, one of my favorite restaurants, has a couple of interesting specials. First, they are now offering $1 oysters, every Wednesday night, until supplies run out. The oysters will be served with Chef Duarte's Rocoto Blood Orange Granita & Cocktail Sauce.

Second, Tambo 22 will be offering a special dinner for Valentine's Day. Check out their special Menu, with items including Anticucho de Corazon, Chuletilla de Venado Cacao Piurano, La Carapulcra de Jabali, and Chocolate Soufflé Con Helado de Lucuma. The 3-course dinner, with a complimentary toast, costs $95 per person. Reservations can be made HERE.
