It was a pleasure this week to see that Eric Asimov, a famed wine writer for The New York Times, covered Saké in his The Pour column. In "Saké Rewards the Adventurous Drinker," Asimov urged wine lovers to try Saké, to discover the joys of Saké. He discussed Sakaya, the all-Saké store in New York City (which I have previously reviewed) as well as providing a couple recommendations. He also emphasized how Saké is very food friendly, and not just for Japanese food.
It is a good article and I hope it spurs on more people to try good Saké, with the hope of gaining more Saké lovers. Saké needs as many proponents and champions that it can get, and it was great to see major publicity for this wonderful brew.
