Bagel Maven Cafe

Sometimes you just stumble upon something good. On my recent trip to New York City, while walking down 30th Street, we happened upon the Bagel Maven Cafe. As it was early morning, we wanted some breakfast so decided to stop in and give it a shot. I knew nothing about the place but it appeared clean with an enticing selection of baked goods in a case near the front door.

This Cafe is a restaurant, deli and bakery and has two floors, the lower floor for waitress service and the upper floor for self-service. The restaurant seemed to be doing a good business though we were lucky and did not have to wait for a table. Lots of people were getting take-out as well.

The menu is quite extensive with all of the traditional breakfast items. Prices are very reasonable, especially considering how high prices can be in NYC sometimes. For example, 2 Eggs with Home Fries & Toast is only $3.25 and the Pancakes are $4.25. I had their Belgian Waffle ($5.95) with a side of bacon. The waffle was the usual Belgian-style waffle and was very good. The bacon was a bit thicker than usual and also very tasty.

Everyone was satisfied with their breakfast and this is a place I would stop by again. Just good traditional breakfast food at reasonable prices.
