Thursday Sips & Nibbles

I'm back again with a new edition of Sips & Nibbles, my regular column where I highlight some interesting, upcoming food and drink events. I hope everyone dines out safely, tips well and are nice to their servers.

1) As November begins, you may also be looking forward to December and the holiday season. When you're making your holidays plans, consider these upcoming holiday restaurant events:

Little Whale Oyster Bar (314 Newbury Street, Boston
Chef Michael Serpa’s recently opened, New England-style seafood hotspot will offer diners a holiday lunch special alongside its regular lunch menu. From December 1 through 23, guests can enjoy an Island Creek Oyster Caviar Service with blinis and traditional accompaniments for $95. Each order of caviar will also have a special stocking stuffer- an Atlántico gift card valued at $25. In addition, Bolligner Special Cuvée Champagne will be available too ad-on by the glass for $30.

Select Oyster Bar (50 Gloucester Street, Boston)
Like its sister restaurant, Chef Michael Serpa’s Back Bay seafood staple, Select Oyster Bar will also offer diners the same holiday lunch special alongside its regular lunch menu. Bistro du Midi (272 Boylston Street, Boston) 
Celebrate the holidays at Bistro du Midi throughout December with its festive Holiday “Bouchon” Lunches. Available during lunch service, seven days a week, all month long, the special menu will offer a prix fixe, three-course menu for $45 per person.

Grill 23 & Bar (161 Berkeley Street, Boston)  
For an elegant, midday holiday celebration or festive power lunch, Grill 23 & Bar will be serving up a special holiday lunch menu on select dates this December. Available on December 12-15 and 19-22 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., the menu will offer guests a selection of festive a la carte dishes in addition to 40th anniversary throwback specials.

Harvest (44 Brattle Street, Cambridge)  
Chef Nick Deutmeyer will be serving up a three-course prix fixe menu throughout the month of December, seven days a week. The menu will be available during lunch service, in addition to its regularly available menu, and cost $45 per person.

2) Kicking off the day after Thanksgiving on Friday, November, 24 and running through Sunday, December 31, Rochambeau will be offering holiday brunch specials to add some festive fun to its daily brunch menu. These will be available seven days a week from 10am to 3pm.

The brunch menu will showcase an assortment of Rochaembau's classic, French-inspired brunch items in addition to holiday-themed dishes and drinks like Eggnog French Toast, Gingerbread PancakesPeppermint Chocolate Mousse, Sparkling Brunch Cocktails and Boozy Hot Cocoa.
