Dali

(Originally posted 4/30/06)

Dali has long been one of my favorite restaurants. I enjoy the food, the Sangria, the ambiance, the staff. It is unpretentious and we always have an enjoyable evening there. It primarily serves tapas, Spanish appetizers. You order a bunch of tapas and share the food, creating a very social occasion. They have a regular menu plus every month or so a list of specials. This month has a list of asparagus specials, including a white asparagus ice cream. (I shudder at just the thought of that, especially as I dislike asparagus). I highly recommend Dali to anyone who wants good food in a fun atmosphere.

Last evening, we had such a feast there. The great thing about tapas is you can order a bunch and taste so many different things.

Tortilla Española Egg/Potato/Onion Omelette
Sopa de Ajo Garlic Soup (from the Pyrenees)
Patatas Bravas Potatoes w/Piquant Tomato & Alioli
Gambas al Ajillo Garlic Shrimp
Vieiras al Azafrán Scallops in Saffron Cream
Croquetas de Pollo Chicken Croquettes
Pato Braseado Roast Duckling w/Berry Sauce
Codorniz de Castilla Broiled Herb and Garlic Quail stuffed w/Bacon
Butifarras Con Brevas Pork Sausage w/Figs
Queso Rebozado con Miel Fried Spanish Cheese w/Honey & Sweet Onion
Pollo y Sus Trigueros Mushroom-stuffed Chicken Breast w/Grass Asparagus Sauce
Beef Short Ribs in a Rioja Sauce

With a couple pitchers of luscious Sangria. And my wife did order the white asparagus ice cream, and she liked it though no one else did.

A phenomenal dining experience!!!! Highly recommended!!!
