The Bury

(Originally posted 2/13/06)

Over the weekend, I went out to dinner with my parents. We were looking for a new place to try and decided on checking out two places in Tewksbury, Bacci's and The Black Olive. We found where Bacci's should be and it was now a place called The Bury. It looked like a decent little place, with a bar attached. It was an Italian restaurant and as the menu seemed good we thought to give it a try.

The meal was quite pleasant. It is relatively inexpensive with decent Italian food. It is certainly not gourmet, or top quality, but there are large portions and the food is good. A nice place for a low price bite to eat. They did have excellent rolls, with a dish of garlic, butter and oil for dipping. I had an Italian platter with chicken parm, a meatball and a large sausage. The others had a seafood plater in a fra diavolo sauce, and a veal & portobello dish in a marsala sauce. The menu is extensive, including pizzas, calzones and sandwiches. They carry only two brands of red wine, though they have several bottles of each brand, from a basic chianti to special riservas. They also have some good looking frozen drinks.

Service was very good and the wait staff were very pleasant. A place I would recommend.
