Want to tantalize your sweet tooth, to indulge in decadent and creative desserts? If so, then maybe you would like to attend a special dessert tasting and discussion being held next week.
The Boston Globe is hosting GlobeTalks, a series of conversations between today's top artistic talents and Boston Globe journalists. On Monday, January 21, GlobeTalks will hold "Explore The Modern Dessert," a dessert tasting and discussion that will be moderated by Jonathan Leavitt, a Boston Globe Correspondent.
The event will be held from 7pm-9pm at the restaurant Clio in the Elliot Hotel. The partcipants will include Ken Oringer, Chef/Owner of Clio; Rick Billings, Pastry Chef at Clio; Pichet Ong, Chef/Owner of P*ONG in New York; Will Goldfarb, Chef/Owner of Room 4 Dessert in New York; and Jordan Kahn, Pastry Chef of Michael Mina Group Restaurants.
These participants will explore the cutting edge of desserts. What are the new ingredients that are being used today and what are the techniques for preparing them? In addition, you will get to try several of their latest concoctions.
The cost for the event is $30. Tickets can be purchased at www.boston.com/aeweekend.
Unfortunately, I will be away on Monday or I would likely attend. Who doesn't like dessert? And it certainly would be interesting to hear from they have to say about what new types of desserts we will be seeing in the near future.

I'm sure most of it will be what we are already seeing in the present pastry world; albeit, new to most.
